Huddersfield Town Preview
Huddersfield Town
Ian Britton and his troops have an immense task to lift themselves up after Saturday's thrashing at Hull when they make their first ever visit to Huddersfield's McAlpine Stadium.  Harriers' winless streak now stands at eight games and it will be a stiff challenge to improve it in tomorrow's game against a team that will be high on confidence after a 3-0 win over Leyton Orient.
There are no fresh injury worries for Ian Britton after the weekend game but Kenny Coleman is likely to return to the squad after missing the last three games through illness.
Peter Jackson, the Terriers' manager, will be able to welcome Tony Carss back into his squad after injury and Efe Sodje after suspension but will have to wait until the last minutes before deciding wheter or not to use Lee Fowler.  Rob Edwards and Ian Hughes are almost certain to miss out through injury.
There is no previous form to consider, this will be the first meeting of the two clubs.
I expect Harriers to line up as follows: Brock, Coleman, Stamps, Willis, Gadsby, Betts, Bennett, D.Williams, J.Williams, Ward, Dyer.
Referee for the game is due to be Kevin Friend from Leicester.  this season he has only taken charge of Division Three games and in the five that he has done he has handed out 19 yellow cards and three red.

Britton Hurt And Frustrated By Rout
"Crap" - Ian Britton
An emotional Ian Britton described Harriers' performance in Saturday's as embarrassing after his side collapsed in the second half and shipped six goals leaving themselves dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Facing the press after the game he said, "In the last 25 minutes we were an embarrassment, a total, utter embarrassment.  I feel sorry for the fans, I feel sorry for the club, I feel sorry for the directors and chairman to have to watch that crap in the second half".  Acknowledging the recent run of poor form he continued, "It has been coming, I've known in my own mind that we are not strong enough and that's just proved the point today.  People criticise me for having a go at the players but if you look at the goals we have conceded they deserve it.
"People will give me stick for formations or picking different players but once they get out there I really can't do a lot.  I don't kick the ball, I don't mark people, I don't tackle, I don't head the ball or do any of those things - the players do that.
"I carry the can as manager but I think the players need to look at themselves and need to carry the can as well".

Harriers Savaged By Tigers
KC Stadium
Harriers suffered their heaviest defeat since joining the Football League and the worst altogether since losing 5-0 at Rebridge Forest in November 1991.  Six goals flew into the back of Stuart Brock's net and nearly all of them could and should have been prevented.  Harriers approached the game in a more cautious fashion, packing the midfield with five men and leaving just one, John Williams, alone in attack.  The plan seemed to have failed when Ben Burgess put Hull ahead after just five minutes but Harriers knuckled down and deservedly drew level with John Williams' first goal for the club.
In the first half Harriers had most of the possession and played some of their best passing football for weeks but were dealt a blow when Danny Allsopp added a second just before the break.  A third goal from Andy Dawson ended the game causing Harriers heads to drop and they then fell to pieces and were routed by three goals in the final ten minutes, a second for Burgess, a debut goal for Ryan France and a free kick from Stuart Green in stoppage time.

Hull City Preview
Hull City
When things aren't going your way games don't come much tougher in Division Three than Hull City away, but the KC Stadium is where Harriers must go tomorrow and try to end their winless streak.  At this point coming away with a draw would be seen as a good result.
Ian Britton has an most of his players at his disposal, only Kenny Coleman is a doubt after having recovered from a stomach virus.  The squad is smaller, however, after the losses of loanee Adam Murray and new signing Mickael Antoine-Curier who signed non-contract forms with Rochdale earlier in the week after failing to turn up for training down here.
For the first time since Harriers joined the Football League Hull are showing signs of living up to their own hype.  Currently they lie second in the league with eighteen points from their nine games and have yet to lose at home.  Earlier in the week boss Peter Taylor was linked with the vacant manager's position at Reading but he chose to remain in the north east rather than speaking to the Royals.  When he comes to select his team tomorrow Taylor may find himself without three key players; Ian Ashbee has a hamstring injury and is considered to be very doubtful while Alton Thelwell and Marc Joseph are almost certain to miss out with foot and knee injuries respectively.
Last season the corresponding fixture was not a happy one for Harriers as City ran out winners by 4-1, a hat-trick from Ben Burgess including one from the penalty apot and another from Jon Walters gave the points to The Tigers while Sean Parrish scored Harriers' consolation goal.  For all the previous results, click here.
I expect Harriers to set out to protect the point that they will start the game with and hope to build on it later, and line up as follows: (4-5-1) Brock, Smith, Stamps, Hinton, Willis, Parrish, Bennett, D.Williams, J.Williams, Gadsby, Dyer.
Referee is due to be Joe Ross from London, so far this season he has been in charge of two Division Three games and issued four yellow cards.

Harriers Throw It Away Again
Another disappointing day at the office for Harriers as they threw away an early lead to lose again and stretch their winless run to seven games.
Ian Britton tried a new formation, lining up with a 4-4-2 instead of the 5-3-2 (or 3-5-2 if you prefer) that we normally see, and opted not to give new signing Mickael Antoine-Curier a start leving him on the bench until midway through the second half.  Harriers took the lead with a good first senior goal for loanee Lloyd Dyer after just eleven minutes but The Imps equalised after 31 minutes with an equally good strike from former Torquay striker Marcus Richardson and then shortly before the break bad defended allowed Richard Butler to head in their second.
Meanwhile, Adam Murray has returned to Derby County cutting short his loan spell with health problems being quoted as the reason.

Lincoln City Preview
Lincoln City Harriers have another home game tomorrow in which to try to to halt their current slump in form.  Currently the Reds are six games without a win, not having tasted victory since the second game of the campaign.
Lincoln's form is not much better, they only have one more point than Harriers, but they are improving steadily after a poor start - they have not conceded a goal in their last four games which could pose a problem for the weak Harriers attack.
Ian Britton has been trying to bring another striker in time for the game and this afternoon managed to clinch the signing on a non-contract basis of former Nottingham Forest player Mikael Antoine-Curier after he was released by Oldham Athletic, he goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's game.  The boss should have a full complement to choose from, with the exception of the players that are out on loan - Matt Lewis who scored again for Hinckley in midweek; Lee Ayres who has joined Conference side Tamworth for a month and Nick Heath who has joined Solihull Borough for a month.  Adie Smith was withdrawn at half time from Tuesday's encounter with Scunthorpe after limping through most of the game at Macclesfield and could be a doubt in which case Kenny Coleman could come back into the side with Craig Hinton reverting to the centre of the defence.
Lincoln boss Keith Alexander welcomes Francis Green into his squad for the first time after making him a £75000 capture from Peterborough United.  The only other injury concern for The Imps is Matt Bloomer who has had gastric flu but it is not expected to keep him out of the game.
Last season the two teams met at Aggborough on Opening Day and shared the points with a 1-1 draw, Simon Weaver gave the visitors the lead but Bo Henriksen equalised.  Harriers should have won the game when they were awarded a late penalty but Drewe Broughton saw his spot-kick saved.  For all previous results between the sides, click here.
I expect Harriers to line up as follows: Brock, Coleman, Dyer, Hinton, Willis, Stamps, Betts, D.Williams, Antoine-Curier, Henriksen, Murray.
Referee for the game is Scott Mathieson from Stockport.  This will be his first Division Three game of the season, but in five games at a higher level he has issued 19 yellow cards and one red.

Another Friday Signing!
Ian Britton search for a striker was finally fruitful today when the signing was completed of Frenchman Mickael Antoine-Curier on a non-contract basis after he was released by Oldham Athletic.
The 20 year-old began his career with Nancy in his native country before moving to England with Preston North End in November 2000.  At the end of the 2000-2001 season he moved to Nottingham Forest after having failed to make the first team at Deepdale, in the following two years he also missed out on first team football at Forest and made his senior debut towards the end of last season in a loan spell at Brentford.  He was released by Forest in the summer and linked up with Oldham where he made nine appearances and scored three goals before being released by the cash-strapped club earlier in the week.

Harriers' Slump Continues
Harriers' winless run was stretched to six games this evening after they were beaten by Scunthorpe United at Aggborough.  A dour game saw neither side take control and play much decent football in the first half but after the break the game came to life.  For the first ten minutes Harriers played some of the best football that they have managed in recent games but could not find the finishing touch to turn the chances into goals.  The game then decended into farce when one of the pitch sprinklers came on, referee Andre Marriner evenually decided to take the players off the field but before they had gone the water was switched off, in frustration at the hold-up Harriers boss Ian Britton kicked a spare ball down the tunnel which caused great offence to the fourth official and he alerted the referee who ordered Britton to watch the rest of the game from the stand.
Within a minute of the restart the visitors took the lead when the Harriers defence stood still waiting for an offside flag that never came and Cliff Byrne raced through and beat Stuart Brock to the ball.  United added a second goal to kill off the game when Steve McLean was on hand to tap in the loose ball after Brock had only parried a shot from Matt Sparrow.

Scunthorpe United Preview
Scunthorpe United Harriers go in search of their first win in six games tomorrow evening when Scunthorpe United come to Aggborough, and they will do so without captain Sean Flynn.  The veteran midfielder was today released from his contract "By mutual consent".  Since joining Harriers last summer he has made 57 appearances, 55 starts, and scored twice.  Last season he figured in more action than any other player in the squad.
Elsewhere in the squad Adam Willis is available again after serving a one-game suspension, but does have a back injury now that could affect his participation, Adie Smith who was man-of-the-match on Saturday could keep his place.  Ian Britton has no other fresh injuries to worry about.
Scunthorpe manager Brian Laws hopes to welcome back his player-coach Peter Beagrie who has been forced to sit out the last two games with a thigh injury.  They also have a player available after suspension, Wayne Graves missed the game on Saturday.  Like Harriers, The Iron, have not had the best of starts to the campaign; so far they have won twice and drawn three times to give them nine points, one more than Harriers.
Last season the same fixture ended with a 3-1 win for United, Bo Henriksen scored for Harriers but Beagrie scored twice, either side of a Martin Carruthers strike, to win the game.  For all of the previous results between the clubs, click here.
I expect Harriers to line up as follows: Brock, Coleman, Dyer, Hinton, Willis, Stamps, Murray, D.Williams, Bishop, Henriksen, Betts.
Referee will be Andre Marriner from Birmingham, so far this season - his first in the Football League - he has been in charge of four Division Three games and has shown 14 yellow cards and two red.

Macclesfield Town Preview
Macclesfield Town
Robert Betts goes straight into the Harriers squad for tomorrow's game at Moss Rose but one player who will be missing is Adam Willis who serves a one-match ban for his sending-off at Cheltenham.  Matt Gadsby who played in midfield at Bristol Rovers last weekend is likely to fill in for him while Adam Murray returns from illness leaving Ian Britton with a full squad with the exception of Willis to choose from.
Silkmen boss David Moss is able to call on two extra players this weekend as Steve MacAuley and Matt Haddrell return to the squad.  Hadrell was missing with a virus while MacAuley had a cracked rib.  John Miles who was responsible for Harriers' downfall in the game last season is a minor doubt as he has had a bug.
Last season the game at Moss Rose ended in a 2-0 win for The Silkmen, John Miles and Danny Whitaker scored the goals within two second half minutes.  For all other results between the clubs, click here.
I expect Harriers to line-up as follows: Brock, Coleman, Dyer, Hinton, Gadsby, Stamps, Betts, D.Williams, Bishop, Henriksen, Murray.
Referee for the day is Phil Joslin from Newark, it will be only his second Division Three game of the season in the previous one he issued three yellow cards and no red.

It's Friday, It Must Be Time For Another New Signing
For the third Friday in a row Harriers have added another new face to the squad.  This week midfielder Robert Betts has arrived from Rochdale, but unlike the previous two arrivals this one is not a loan, he has signed a one-year contract after Ian Britton moved quickly to snap him up from under the noses of other interested clubs.
The 21-year old former Coventry City midfielder had been at Rochdale since the start of the season, playing five times and scoring twice, but left Spotland earlier in the week after he and 'Dale boss Alan Buckley were unable to reach agreement on wages for a permanent deal for him to stay there.
Born in Doncaster he made his Football League debut for his hometwon club before being snapped up by the Sky Blues.  At Highfield Road he figured in the Premier League but was later loaned to Plymouth Argyle and Lincoln City before his release in the summer.

Bishop To Stay For Another Month
Andy Bishop has had his loan spell at Aggborough extended by another month, which will take him into October.  Ian Britton needed him to be allowed to stay as he currently only has four strikers on the books and with Matt Lewis out on loan at Hinckley United, to have lost Bishop would have left him with only two.
Lewis, however, got off to the best possible start to his spell at Hinckley yesterday.  Making his debut in their game at Eastbourne Borough he scored both goals in a 2-0 win.  Those were the first goals he had scored at that level, last season he failed to find the net in his spell at Bath City, but scored a hatful at Evesham and Solihull in the division below.

Brit Still Not Happy With Performance
"We were sloppy and lazy" - Ian Britton
Ian Britton was furoous with his team after they threw away another game yesterday when a Lee Hodges strike 20 minutes from the end gave Bristol Rovers their first home win of the season.
After the game he said, "We haven't played very well and not have Bristol Rovers, but we should have taken a point.  Once again we were sloppy and lazy, but we have to overcome this and only the players can do it.  It's alright trying to do it for 90 minutes on a matchday but it starts with hard work on the training ground.
"I was hoping our players had learned their lessons but I can see similarities to last season.  Don't get me wrong as we will win our fair share of games this season and no disrespect to Bristol Rovers but this was a hame where we should be taking points from.
"We need to get to the next level, which means pushing for the play-offs, but we aren't getting there.  Gadsby had a great chance to score, but that is the way we are playing at present.  We didn't play particularly well but then again I don't think we have played particularly well all season.  I don't know whether there is a mental block there or what but we can't continue making the same mistakes.  Sides that go into the play-offs would have got something from out last three games, but all we have to show for it is a point.  I lost count of the amount of times we gave away needless free-kicks and this puts pressure on you.  It's only a matter of time before you get punished".
Ray Graydon, the Pirstes' boss, said, "It was a touch of class from Lee.  We didn't win by playing flowing football, it was a case of every player working hard.  It's tough for us to score at the moment but I couldn't ask the team for more.

Harriers Torpedoed By Pirate Sub
Harriers slumped to their third defeat in the last four league games after a dull encounter at the Memorial Stadium was ended by a terrific strike by Bristol Rovers substitute Lee Hodges.
Ian Britton made changes to his line-up again, new signing Lloyd Dyer started wide on the left and looked lively in the opening stages but tired towards the end of the game, Matt Gadsby made his first start of the season but in midfield rather than in the centre of defence.  The Harriers boss also changed formation, choosing a more cautious 4-5-1 rather than his normal 5-3-2.  The change of tactic looked as though it would be good enough to earn at least a point from a dour encounter until lax defending allowed Hodges plenty of time to win the game with his well taken goal.

Bristol Rovers Preview
Bristol Rovers
Ian Britton returns to his hometown club tomorrow with a full squad to choose from and with another new loan signing to parade.  Lloyd Dyer, just arrived from West Brom will vie with Sam Shilton and Sean Parrish for the left wing-back role.
Andy Bishop will figure in the squad for the last time as his loan spell runs out after the game, Britton will talk to Colin Lee, the Walsall manager, about extending the deal next week.  Matt Lewis will not be available after moving out on loan to Hinckley United while Adam Willis makes his last appearance before missing next week's trip to Macclesfield through suspension.  Graham Ward is set to retain his place after coming through 90 minutes unscathed for the Irish Under-20 side earlier in the week.
Bristol are having a better start to the season than they have had for the last couple of seasons, currently they occupy eighth place although they have yet to win at home having had two draws.  Manager Ray Graydon welcomes Adam Barrett back into the squad after he missed last weekend's game through suspension.  Missing will be Andy Rammell, who Harriers tried to sign last season, who is still recovering from a knee injury.
Last season Harriers won the game 2-1 with goals from JJ Melligan and Bo Henriksen, Paul Tait scored the Rovers goal.  For all previous results click here.
I expect Harriers to line-up as follows: Brock, Coleman, Dyer, Hinton, Willis, Stamps, Ward, D.Williams, J.Williams, Henriksen, Murray.
The man in the middle is Alan Butler from Nottinghamshire.  This will be his third Division Three game of the season, in the previous two he has issued ten yellow cards and two red.

One In, One Out
Harriers have today completed the signing of promising West Bromwich Albion youngster Lloyd Dyer on loan for one month.  The player is a left-sided midfielder/wing-back, so Sam Shilton's place would appear to be the one under most threat from his arrival, and so far he has made just one senior appearance for The Baggies, in last season's Worthington Cup in a defeat against Wigan Athletic.
Meanwhile, Matt Lewis has been sent out on loan to gain some match practice joining Hinckley United in the Doc Marten's League.  This will be the striker's fourth spell out on loan, last season he spent time with Evesham United, Bath City and Solihull Borough.
