- 31 October - Goals from Starbuck (2) and Anderson help
Burton recover from a 1-0 half time deficit to defeat Boston in the
FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round Replay and earn a trip to Aggborough in Round 1.
- 28 October - Torrential rain ensured that today's match
at Plymouth was postponed at 1pm. No date has yet been fixed for the
game to take place. The draw for the First Round of the FA Cup has been
made and Harriers have been give a home tie with either Boston United
or Burton Albion. Full Draw.
- 27 October - Jan Molby has an almost complete squad
to choose from for tomorrow's trip to managerless Plymouth. With the
return of Ian Foster against Chesterfield and Stuart Brock in the Reserves
at Hereford, only Thomas Skovbjerg is still unavailable. Ian Foster picked
up a slight knock in training but should be available, although he may
be relegated to the bench. St@tto expects the Harriers to line-up as
follows: Clarke, Clarkson, Stamps, Bogie, Hinton, Shail, Bennett, Horne,
Durnin, Ducros, Hadley.
- 21 October - After scoring five times in two matches
away from home, Harriers returned to Aggborough and again drew a blank
drawing 0-0 with Exeter.
- 20 October - Exeter are the visitors to Aggborough
tomorrow as Harriers look to carry on where they left off at Feethams on
Tuesday. Harriers will give a late fitness test to Tony Bird who injured
his knee at Darlington while Dean Bennett and John Durnin who were both
also hurt during and after that game should both be available. Good
news on the injury front is that Ian Foster has been able to resume
training after treatment on his hamstring and he may return to action
next week in the Reserves' game at Hereford. Expect the Harriers to line-up
against Exeter as follows: Clarke, Clarkson, Stamps, Smith, Hinton, Shail,
Bennett, Horne, Bird, Ducros, Durnin.
- 17 October - Harriers win at Darlington with two more
goals from John Durnin taking his tally to three in two games. Darlington
battered the Harriers throughout the second half, and in all had two goals
disallowed for offside. Match report.
- 16 October - It has been revealed that plans are
underway to replace the Bill Greaves Stand at Aggborough with a new
all-seater construction to comply with League rules that state the club
must have a seated capacity of 2000 within three years. Although nothing
will happen for some time, chairman Lionel Newton told the
Express & Star that he hopes to have plans approved by Christmas of
2001. Much of the funding for the would come from the Football Foundation
which gave most of the money for the current building work taking place
at Aggborough.
- 14 October - Recalling their meetings in the Conference,
Harriers and Lincoln play out a thrilling 3-3 draw. Three times Lincoln
lead, three times Harriers equalised. Tim Clarke and Ian Clarkson both
returned from injury, and John Durnin made his debut up front. It was Durnin
who scored Harriers' first, the first Kidderminster goal by a striker since
Ian Foster scored at Brighton on August 28, and in an amazing ten minute spell
in the second half a further four goas were scored. Lincoln had taken the
lead early on when Gavin Gordon headed in a soft goal, and after Durnin's
equaliser poor defending again let Gordon in to score. A gem from Andy Ducros
levelled again, but Grant Brown restored the home team's lead. Dean Bennett
earned Harriers a point when he scrambled in their third. Despite the point,
Harriers dropped to 12th in the league.
- 13 October - John Durnin has joined the club on a
28 day contract, although if he impresses during this spell he could
stay for the season. Ian Clarkson could be back for tomorrow's trip
to Lincoln after recovering from his hamstring injury and Tim Clarke
could also return as Stuart Brock has picked up a knee injury in training.
Harriers are likely to line-up as follows: Clarke, Smith, Stamps, Bogie,
Hinton, Shail, Bennett, Horne, Durnin, Ducros, Hadley. Lincoln have
injury worries of their own, defenders Steve Welsh, Scott Eustace, Anthony
Henry and midfielder Peter Gain are all out as is striker Lee Thorpe
who was Lincoln's top scorer last season with 17.
- 11 October - Experienced striker John Durnin, formerly
of Oxford and Portsmouth hits a hat-trick as the reserves draw 4-4 with
Worcester at Aggborough. Bootle born Durnin began his career with Waterloo
Dock before joining Liverpool in 1986. After just two senior appearances,
he was loaned to WBA before being sold to Oxford where he played 180 games
an scored 47 goals. Next stop was Portsmouth for whom he scored 33 goals
in 211 games, after leaving Fratton Park, he had short spells with Blackpool
and Carlisle who released him in May this year. Two further trialists were
included in the Harriers line-up: Luigi Pasquale and Rory Prendergast.
- 6 October - Injury hit Harriers hold high-flying
Rochdale to a goalless draw at Aggborough. Dean Bennett managed to shake
off his injury long enough to make an appearance in place of Stewart
Hadley who stepped down to the subs bench. After a scrappy first half,
the game opened up after the break, and flowed from end to end at a
furious pace, but neither side could make the breakthrough. Tony Ellis
missed a string of chances through the match and Tony Bird came closest
to scoring for Harriers when his header dropped just wide.
- 4 October - Harriers have more injury worries ahead of
Friday's home game with high-flying Rochdale. Ian Clarkson injured his
hamstring against Blackpool and could be out for two to three weeks,
Dean Bennett has a groin problem that has been troubling him for some
time and could be out for a couple of weeks, and Ian Foster may have
to undergo surgery to cure his injury. Tonight, the youth team were
held to a 1-1 draw at Walshes Meadow by RC Warwick. Mark Adams gave
Harriers the lead 52 seonds after the break only for Andy Gregory to
equalise, the first goal Harriers have conceded this season.
