** LATEST NEWS **

  • 30 June - Further transfer activity, Steve Jones arrives from Swansea City on a free transfer. The right back, who began his career at Cheltenham, was manage by Jan Molby in the Dane's days in charge at The Vetch. Jones has signed a two year contract to keep him at Aggborough until 2003. Meanwhile, Molby is still hopeful of bringing Sam Shilton to the club in the next few days.
  • 29 June - Neil MacKenzie has finally signed a one year extension to his contract, the last player to do so from the current squad. An Molby has been in further talks with players that he hopes to bring in, Sam Shilton, son of former England goalkeeper Peter, is amongst them having been released by Hartlepool. Daniel Hall from Coventry City is also a target but is being courted by a number of clubs.
  • 27 June - Harriers sign Danny Williams from Wrexham on a free transfer to a two year contract.  Williams is a Welsh under-21 international who started his career wth Liverpool.  Jan Molby feels that he will add a strong physical presence to Harriers' midfield.  Ironically, Williams is not one of the players that Molby admitted an interest in last week.
  • 19 June - The draw for the First Round of the Worthington Cup has paired Harriers with last season's Division 1 play-off losers Preston at Aggborough.  In a new look to the competition, the opening round will be played over one leg, and will finish on the night.
  • 15 June - Harriers have today been linked with Wolves goalkeeper Mike Stowell who has been released by the Black Country club. Blakpool are favourites to sign the keeper, however.
Also, Harriers have added a further friendly to their pre-season programme, travelling to Nuneaton on August 4 as part of the deal whih brought Andy Ducros to Aggborough.
  • 14 June - As I suggested yesterday, Jan Molby has today denied that he hs any interest in re-signing James Collins. Also, Chris Lightfoot has reportedly said that Harriers are his first choice for next season despite offers from Shrewsbury and Leyton Orient. This is bound to increase speculation that Craigh Hinton is on his way out of Aggborough.
  • 13 June - The latest rumour surrounds former Harriers James Collins who has been released by Crewe, and Jan Molby is said to be keen to bring him back to Aggborough. Although he is a left-sided player, which is one of the types of player Molby is after, it is unlikely that there is anything in this story.
  • 9 June - Harriers chairman Lionel Newton was one of 71 chairmen out of 72 who voted against the Conference's proposal for two promotion places at the Football League AGM.
  • 5 June - Daire Doyle has finally agreed to his contract extension. He will remain at the club until the summer of 2003. Jan Molby has said that he has made offers to several as yet unnamed players, and is waiting for their answers. One of these may be former Walsall player Bjarni Larusson, although Molby was not prepared to confirm or deny this. Also, Tim Clarke has returned to one of his former clubs Halesowen Town.
