  • 31 July - Trialist Ian Joy has made his move to the club permanent. The former Tranmere, Stirling and Montrose player has signed a two year contract. French defender Sall Abdou is still in talks negotiating his deal.
  • 27 July - Harriers entertain WBA tomorrow in a game which will see the return to Aggborogh of Lee Hughes. Albion have today confirmed that they will listen to offers for the striker after failing to persuade him to accept a new contract. This is good news for Harriers as there was a sell-on clause in the deal that took him to The Hawthorns which entitles Harriers to 15% of any fee.
    Harriers are set to leave out all three trialists tomorrow, but the good news is that Ian Foster may figure in the squad. No decision has yet been made by the management as to which, if any, of the trialists will be kkept on.
  • 25 July - Jan Molby is set to make a decision over which of the three trialists currently at the club he is to keep. All three, left back Ian Joy, central defender Sall Abdou, and striker Darren Middleton have all impressed during the friendlies played so far. Molby told the club website, "They have all done very well and have staked a claim for a permanent deal. Financially I won't be able to keep all three so the upshot is I have a very difficult decision to make".
  • 24 July - Harriers' first home friendly saw Second Division Bristol City visit Aggborough, and Harriers continued their winning form as Stewart Hadley's fourth goal of the summer gave them a 1-0 victory.
  • 21 July - Harriers picked up their third win from four games with a 3-0 victory at Redditch. No new trialists were introduced, but Darren Middleton impressed creating two and scoring the third.
  • 18 July - Mark Blake, a 30 year-old midfielder has joined the club. Having been released by Mansfield, he yesterday signed a two year contract with the Harriers. Jan Molby has been pursuing the plpayer for some time, and was understandably delighted to have finally got his man. He told the club website, "Mark is a very strong, versatile player and should turn out to be a fantastic signing for us. He scored nine goals from midfield last year and he has since told me he was disappointed with that figure! If he can weigh in with the same tally again I'll be more than happy."
  • 17 July - Harriers yesterday signed 17 year-old striker Matt Lewis on a three year contract. The youngster was with Marconi last season and was one of the leading scorers in the Midland Floodlit Youth League with 25, in total he scored 52 goals in both the Youth and First teams. Jan Molby told the club website, "The kid has everything. He's tall, very quick... and has the ability to pass the ball into the back of the net", he went on, "I wouldn't be surprised if he is knocking on the First Team door before the end of the season, he has the potential to play in the premiership".
  • 16 July - Another convincing win as Harriers trounce Halesowen Harriers 6-1 with goals from Middleton, Bird 2, Shail, Shilton, Ducros. Again Jan Molby used 21 players, including trialist Steeve Epesse-Titi, former Wolves and Exeter central defender.
  • 14 July - A comfortable win in the sunshine at Bromsgrove, beating the Midland Alliance side 4-0.
  • 14 July - Harriers travel to Bromsgrove this afternoon to begin their pre-season programme. Jan Molby will make extensive use of his squad in this opening warm-up, and trialists Darren Middleton, Ian Joey, and goalkeeper Mark Westhead are set to feature. Westhead has played for the Harriers before, making 4 appearances January 1998 conceding 11 goals.
  • 9 July - Pre-season training began again this morning with all players reporting back fit, including Craig Hinton, Adie Smith, Andy Ducros, and even Ian Foster. Also present were a number of trialists: Darren Middleton, who had a couple of games with the reserves last season, Craig Dean, who has been in America and also played with Songdal an Manchester United, and Ian Joey who has had a spell with Tranmere.
    Adie Smith has signed new contract which will keep him at the club for three years. The player had a year to run on his existing contract, but Jan Molby wanted to reward him for his performances last season.
  • 6 July - Harriers trip to Macclesfield has been put back a day to Sunday 7 October, ko 2pm, to avoid a clash with England's World Cup qualifier with Greece on the Saturday.
  • 4 July - Neil MacKenzie has become the second player in a matter of days to turn his back on the club after agreeing to sign. The midfielder has joined second division Blackpool, telling their club website, "I'm joining Blackpool because they can give me the opportunity to play at a higher level and they are a bigger club than Kidderminster. I played against Blackpool last season and know how good the team is and that was proved by their promotion".
    Also, defender Chris Hutchings has turned down a three year deal to come to Aggborough in favour of a move to Southend where he spent some time last season after being released by Bristol City.
  • 3 July - Harriers contine to build, Sam Shilton has arrived from Hartlepool, joining for two years. The son of former England legend Peter, is looking forward to the new challenge, he told the Club website, "I feel my strengths are suited to attacking football. Jan's 4-4-2 style of play will hopefully allow me to get forward more."
  • 2 July - Steve Jones has stunned the Harriers by reneging on his agreement to join the club and gone elsewhere having had a better offer, believed to be from Cheltenham.
